Day from hell

This was just a peachy day. No scrapping today, that's for sure. Last week I noticed our milk had solidified and the date wasn't even past on it. I blamed it on the grocery store and didn't think any more about it. Two days later I noticed the icemaker wasn't working and that the frezzer food seemed rather soft. I rearranged the food thinking ..maybe the door wasn't fully closed. Jim explained that if the temp rose in the freezer the icemaker wouldn't work. Today I got up and the milk was solid again and things were getting warm in the refridgerator and the freezer part still hadn't gotten any colder. Ok face it too many things happening. The thing is only 4 years old, but we've had some pretty hot days and I'm sure some surges too. So Jim, I and Mr. Visa headed out for Lowe's. We measured the hole, the refridgerator we had now etc and off we went. We found one for less than we thought with an icemaker (must have) and brought it home. We checked the floor model for size real good, too. We get home and the thing grew and was taller than the floor model. Crap! Well it's in the house unpacked and everything. Jim ended up having to take the cabinet out above the fridge leaving just a shelf, which we now have to put some molding on. I hated them anyway as they were real useless. In my fantasy's about remodeling the kitchen I had envisioned just having an open shelf. It worked out just great as my canisters were on the top of my fridge (don't use them anyway but I inherited them and love them)now they are neatly on the shelf making it just right for the cats to get on top of the cabinets as nothing hampers them.
We had a side by side before which I didn't really like it was about 19 cubic feet and the new one is a regular freezer on top kind but its 20 cubic feet. Loads of room and I know that now when the holiday comes I have plenty of room for at least a 20 lb turkey...how? Because there is plenty of room as evidensed by a fat assed cat, who had to get in and check it out.. I couldn't stand it when I saw it wouldn't fit...Jim kept saying not to worry, the neighbors kept saying just cut the trim and I just left the room. The sound of a saw tearing apart my kitchen just about did me in. A few pieces of decorative trim and one would never know it didn't belong that way.

My good friend Tracy from the land of Oz...that's down under...Australia for those not familiar with the term...feeling very bad for me made me a beautiful Lay Out which you should see probably above this post, to cheer me up. She E-mailed it to me. I was quite touched. Funny isn't it how you can become very close and care for someone you've never met. Tracy and I (if you've followed my posts) are both on Terrell's CT. Speaking of Terrell she still has us in the dark, but promises news on Monday so don't forget to check out her blog. She's been very busy with a few things and I too might have some news, along with Tracy as the three of us have secrets, too. I'm thinking ours will be tied to hers in a way. So,
I'll keep y'all guessing. of course it's scrap related.
Well, it's almost tomorrow so I guess I'll leave off for now..It's been a hell of a day.

It wasn't that bad, yes I had to first cut the bottom of the trim, and that still lacked an 1/8 inch of space, so the next best thing was to remove the face of the cabinet, make a spacer to close off the opening into the other cabinets and remove some nails. Now just need to put some trim up and a whole new look.
