Saturday's musings, memories are good

TerrellS Doreen's Greens kit
I've been scrapping up a storm since Jim has been gone. For me that is. So far I've done 6 sets of Quick Pages for TerrellS and a couple of LO's too. I've been trying to pace myself something like LO's during the day and QP's at night. It is taking forever to send her the links and I get quite frustrated. So I figured out to do them at night and before I go to bed send her the file and do just that..go to bed. I don't have to sit here staring and waiting for it to go. We zip our files and use Sendspace but it still takes forever.

I've done two LO's about my friend Jo in NY. One is the ice cream cone from yesterday and todays perfect Pair. Of course they are TerrellS kits.

Jo was my next door neighbor in FL for a while and we became very close very soon after she moved in. We were lifelines for each other. She missed her kids and I missed female companionship. So we bonded like sisters, right from the start. Every spare moment we could we were together. We shared a lot in those few years. Jo became my "in house" baker as she loved to bake. Whenever she ran out of anything she just hopped right over to my refrigerator knowing I'd have what she needed. I'd usually be at work and by the time I got home I'd have fresh banana bread, apple pie, carmel corn or sticky buns waiting...whatever she was making I got some of it. Pretty good deal, I'd say. She always knew she'd find bananas in my freezer, eggs in the fridge and vanilla in the cabinets.
We had more fun just laughing and joking. Going to the mall we had hot fresh Pretzels and coffee from Barnies and we'd sit and people watch. We also would stuff our purses and shirts with snacks and smuggle them into the movies so we could save a buck. We went to DQ and one other place that had orange sherbert and vanilla swirls. She has a dog Ginger who loves me , it's mutual even though I'm not a dog person. Ginger didn't realize she was a dog, I think she thought she was a cat. Jo would torment her with comments like "the kitty next door is going to come over and eat your food" when she wouldn't eat and of course Ginger would eat it right up. Ginger used to give poor Dinkie a dirty look whenever she saw her. It was and is still a good friendship even with the distance. Funny do you know she still sends me "care packages" from time to time. One of her sayings that sticks with me is "who asked you". It was the way and who she said it too that would crack me up. I miss you Jo and I hope you are taking care of yourself.
