I see my blog is still here, so I guess we made it through the night. This should be an interesting experience for us. I say us because I wouldn't be surprised to see DH add something every now and then.
It's been very hot here in Tennessee, with no relief in site. We did get two gully whoppers (heavy rain bursts) , one yesterday and one the day before. Since it came quick and in buckets it didn't last at all. But beggars can't be choosy so we'll take that and pray for a good steady rain, and soon.
I mentioned that we live in the country, well we live on 5 acres of land up the hill from town. We're 7 miles from real civilization, at least what counts as civilization here. Which is the way I like it. Great neighbors (you have to look hard to see the houses) that are there when you need them and not if you don't. I do miss the malls, but we are an hour from Nashville and Clarksville. Last year we were blessed with two coffee shops.....not just coffee but Espresso. This was my salvation. We try to get to our favorite called The Coffee Cabinet at least 4 times a week, where like the bar Cheers, they "know our name". Looks like they are changing their web page as it wasn't as colorful as last time I checked it.
Our closest neighbors and dearest friends are "T" and Tracy and "T"s two (very well behaved children, Laken (sp) and Colton plus their 6 horses, two mules, one goat, gaggle of dogs and now home to 3 kittens. "T"s family property surrounds us with pasture land and usually we can see the horse "gaggle" in the field behind us. I love this as I get to enjoy them without the shoveling. For the past few days Jim and I have had the pleasure of "sitting" for them, which really doesn't amount to a lot except feed and water and the fun for me of playing with the kitties. It kind of gives me the feeling that I'm really a country person, now and I love it when they ask us. Last winter I had the "job" Ha! by myself as Jim was away on business (another story). Mostly it was dog sitting and "pilling". That was a site to see as Kate (at this point) hated me and would growl when she saw me and Lulu was afraid of me , everyone else loved me. I used to hide the pills in cheese and now Kate and I are best of friends...Lulu still remains allusive. The site was me tromping through the woods trying to give Lulu her much needed medication. "T"s property is extensive and there has to be at least 5 acres immediately around the house. We all survived and I might admit this kitty purrson has become accustomed to doggies, now.
This morning has started off very quiet. The horses are watered but we still have to go see the rest of the troops. In our house our three have been fed TJ, Shadow and Chessie. Plus Puddy, who is our resident back yard stray. Now I can take a few minutes to check E-mails, etc while Jim does the same and enjoy a cup of coffee. After this break we will feed"the troops" and go to town and on return get down to business.
The business being I need to get busy and design some LO's for my friend Terrell. Being a CT (Creative Team member) has a lot of perks. She provides me with all the digital kits I need to scrap my life. They are just beautiful and I always feel like it's Christmas when she sends me files to download. You can check out a lot of her things on her blog, Wait it Gets Better.
Now, this is a women who never ceases to amaze me. I post just about all my Layouts on Moo Two but will start adding the new ones here as I go. MooTwo is just one of my sites, but it is the smallest, so far, and I've fallen in love with it.
Time to get a mooove on, but I'll be back! Hope y'all have a good one.
