Yesterday started early with another trip North to Wellington to pick up the engine and the car that was just delivered. We then headed South to Blackwell stopping at Rome to leave one car off we continued South and delivered the sand car around 5:00PM. This is an all day project as we can only 5-10 MPH on these tracks. We did have a little problem starting the engine and once again I did come in handy while Terry (the conductor) and Jim were out front checking everything I was in the cab priming and starting the engine. I have finally figured out that I guess it's time I paid more attention to the running of this railroad, as you never know when you might come in handy. From time to time I do little things like re vamping logo's and research on a location, but I haven't paid a lot of attention on the rest. Granted hanging around through osmosis I do understand some terms like Engine light- running without any cars, "Give me a Stretch" is after hooking up a short pull away to make sure your are hooked, "That'll do" is the expression the conductor uses when the engineer has either backed where he wants them or pulled away where he wants them to stop. There is constant chatter between the two so that the engineer knows where his conductor is at all times. There has to be a Roger or some type of answer before any action is taken for safety purpose. Like when the conductor is going in between cars until he hears the return of "set and center" he doesn't do it. I think one of my next books won't be a novel to read but the GCOR manual. LOL.
On the scr

apbook field, I haven't done any LO's lately but have dabbled with the newest doodles designed by Terrell. She has some excellent ones of snowflakes that I turned into ornaments for a Christmas tree I want to incorporate into a Christmas card. This is just one of them that I used to create this tree.

When I saw them I knew right away just what I wanted to do with them. I used these and another of he kits Bursts and another Doodles to accomplish this. I think the make a real "kool" tree decoration. It was a lot of fun creating it. I've got to play with it some more, but it's a little early for that but soon.
Today Jim has some phone calls to make and then we have another trip to Ponca to make. Scott will be returning to Blackwell sometime this Wednesday so I've got to think of some meals to cook. Scott is the only one I do this for because he's like family. LOL and besides he's Chessie's friend. Poor Scott he's allergic to kitties and she just loves him and goes crazy when she sees him. When we have a bigger group I don't cook we go out. LOL
So, later Scarlett.
