Yesterday was quiet, cloudy but no real storms as were predicted if any of those hurricanes came this way. By the end of the day the temp did drop a lot and we broke out the heater for the night. Jim and I took another ride up to Wellington to check on the cars that we brought up for shipping and the other cars waiting in the BN yard that needed to be transferred to us. He is hoping that they do this today so that he and Terri can move them tomorrow. Right now he is off again to Wellington to work on that pesky signal that keeps malfunctioning.

For some reason I haven't been getting much sleep these past weeks. I think it's because of the heat. The RV is separated into two cooling zones one in the bedroom the other in the front of the vehicle. To me they are very noisy and I can't stand the sound so we turn off the bedroom at night. This means it is not as cool in the bedroom and I believe that is the reason for the sleeplessness as I'm forever kicking off covers. Last night I slept pretty good till Princess Shadow got in my purse on the side of the bed. Before we left Waverly Joyce had given me a packet of catnip she had gotten with her order from PetMed and I not thinking placed it in my purse. Funny they didn't discover it sooner but could be because I usually keep it zipped but this time it wasn't. I kept hearing a crinkle crinkle and when I put my hand down Shadow was there and in the dark I could feel she had a small cello bag. I didn't want to wake Jim by putting the light on so I floundered around in the dark taking the bag away from her and put it in my closet next to the bed. Thankfully she went back to sleep and so did I. This AM when I looked she had everything out of my purse and all over the floor.

After my shower, while I had coffee, I gave the "kids" each a sprinkle of cat nip. I now have three zonked out "katz". They did have a little kitty fit but not the usual cat nip flurry.

Reports from Waverly (Joyce) said the pool party was a huge success and that a few had bent noses as they weren't invited. Then again folks it's not an Olympic Pool either. There was plenty of food and good tasting too from what I hear. Joyce had The Waverly Cafe make up a lot of it.

Our weeks here in Blackwell are coming to an end as I believe we will be leaving on the 10th. The Kay County fair starts next week so we will hit that on the ninth. Then we head out to the Chicago area and home on the 16th (or so)
