Well it's a small world. Cousin David over in Nairn, Scotland caught my blog regarding the fact Jim and I watched Narnia the other night and guess what? The Oscar winning actress, Tilda Swinton who plays that wicked witch lives there in his town. Last year they decided to hold a pagaent before turning on there Christmas lights and called it NAIRNIA. Ms Swinton agreed to play her role, as in the film. They have decided to re enact scenes from the series of books each Christmas. He nicely enclosed photos taken this year. Above is a Collage of some of the photos...I can see some SB pages in them for sure...especially the Winter witch. LOL.
Of course I think he's lucky to be living there any how since there is so much history. Oh how I would love to go there someday. Of all the places outside the US of A the British Isles is about the only place I long to visit. I guess it helps because we Beach's and Greaneys stem from England and Ireland and then my Sister's paternal family came from Scotland they were Patersons. Then Jim's family hails from Wales and Scotland..Saunders which is part of the McDonald clan. Jim was stationed there while serving in the Navy and he longs to return. Me, I just relish the photos Dave sends me as I dream of all the history in those old buildings and wish myself back in time. Speaking of did you ever read any of Diana Gabaldon's books? If you did you'd know what I mean as Claire was a time traveler. With each of her books I put myself right in the character and go back in time. It is said they will do a movie about them one of these days. I would love to see Pierce Brosnan play Jamie since Sean Connery is too old for that part, but have no idea who for Claire.
Oh well! I have been trying forever now to do some animation work for one of my classes in PSP times three to no avail. I joined because they have some great tutorials on PSP but they mostly do tags. I figured hey I could learn that too as I go along but GRRRR it got me kind of discouraged so I might have to go back and do the starter tuts instead of the weekly ones. I also need to do some more sbing and kits, but I still can't sit so long as my hip, back and leg are still acting up.
We still haven't done any decorating outside as it was bitter cold. Inside will have to wait till after the 16th as we promised Joyce we would drive to MO to pick up her son and bring him here for Christmas. With little RJ it will be a bit difficult to do a lot as I'm sure he will thing he is in heaven and not know where to start destroying things. We're going to have to plan around our trip as they will be left home alone. It's just overnight but a kitty can get into a lot of trouble with 3 siblings egging him on.So it looks like we can only have things up between the 18 and the 29th as we take him back on the 30th. Outside it doesn't matter. It can go up anytime and come down after New Years. Like the other years the tree will be tied to the wall. LOL It makes it more steady to climb. LOL We also do not use tinsel as cats seem to think it good eating. A good padding under the tree helps soften the falling balls, and also makes a nice cat bed. Everyone of the kitties has always picked the tree to sleep under...presents or not...just push them out of the way. God forbid you make a mistake and put any wrapped catnip toys under there or in the stockings. I always have to hide them and always forget where I did. I usually make little tiny pillows and fill them with cotton and catnip for inside and outside babies. Santa leaves them very early Christmas Morning. Hey...they are our babies now.
