Where am I?

I guess I was missed as I got an E-mail regarding my blog for today. It's been another one of those days here. The heat has been horrible but the wind is blowing a lot. All hot air. Like some people we know. Makes me think of what the people in the Midwest went through back in the 30's, was it that there was the terrible droughts and dust bowls.

The breeze that was blowing was different than any breeze I've felt before. It was very weird and very hot. I ran out of coffee creamer and had to trek out to Wal-Mart to get some and that's all people were talking about. I wanted to go to my coffee shop, but with the creamer and a few other things cold I went back home instead. Too hot!

I'm hoping this evening cools a bit so I can at least do a LO and a QP. Even the kitties aren't moving. All three have found a spot and haven't moved for hours. I sat for a while and looked at my pictures and saw that I did have a few heritage ones that really need to be scraped. I really like the one I did yesterday..CHB..That's my Dad . I can remember when I first found that picture of him...I was a kid myself at the time and real puzzled as to why my parents had me dressed like that. My Mom laughed and told me it was my Dad not me. Comparing it to my own pictures of the same age we have the same little frown. I think my Beachnut picture has it too. Funny how you carry certain traits, isn't it? Since Jim and I share the Beach blood we also share a lot of the personality and facial traits (I don't have a mustache) but we do have the same eye crinkle. As for personality we are both pack rats and other things I won't mention. I want to do my things with TerrellS kits but wonder if I can find the embellishment I need for heritage. I can mix the kits but I like to stay with the same ones, when I'm working. She has some interesting Romance and Nostalgia kits I can use and even some of the ones that aren't really earmarked as Heritage can be used too. I've used Muted Embrace for a few heritage. The Shannen mini papers, Da Blues and Peaceful can all be used for heritage. I think I do need some type of embellishments for them as modern ones don't look right. And, guess what I believe that maybe if I wish hard enough she might just do some more heritage stuff either papers or maybe add ons. I think that's why I like her stuff so much is that it is so versatile.

Doing Genealogy is how I got into this in the first place, so I owe it to those who came before me to do these pages. I wish I knew more about them but those that could tell me are all gone. The Beach's we have dead ended with my Great Great Grandparents but on My Mom's fathers side we have gone back to the 1600's and that was pure fluke. I had posted on one of the sites that I was interested in her family when a distant cousin in law got a hold of me. Once we established we were related ( her husbands people) she sent me the file on the family, then suddenly I had cousins contacting me from everywhere. That's how I found cousin David in Scotland, I've got a few more ladies in England and two ladies here in the states, Maggie and Natalie. I knew about the ones here, but hadn't been in contact till a few years ago. So now I've been in contact with cousins on both Dad's side and Mom's. It's changed a lot in my life and made it a lot richer. Some of us will never meet but we have formed a real good bond. Searching still goes on today on the Beach side in the hopes we can go further back in time and maybe even tie us in with some of the other Beach clan that came over from England and settled in CT way way back. They are even doing some DNA testing of the male heirs to see if we are connected which can prove very interesting.

Well lets see if I can do something creative before bed.
