A better day

Jim and I spent until the wee hours on the computer last night and I'd say we didn't fall asleep till about 4 AM LOL only to be (at least me) awakened at about 5:15 AM to the sound of dump trucks pulling in to out neighbor Chuck's place. I couldn't believe it. It puts getting an early start in a new perspective. Chuck is digging out his pond making it deeper, wider and longer. I did manage to fall asleep again till about 7 and then gave up. They have had 10 trucks going in and out all day long at a steady pace.

We went for coffee early as Laura , if she worked said she might get a chance to make my French Bread. She didn't. While there Jan introduced us to another former Florida resident. I'm terrible as I can't remember his name. I think it's Julio something Oh well. Any way he was from the Miami area and had had it with the school system, insurance and the area in general. I'm gathering he works out of his home here and he still travels back to FL. when he has too. He too loves the small town feeling and our coffee shop. He told us he had checked the school system out for our town first and has found that they were almost 2 years ahead of where his kids went in FL but the kids were getting on fine and learning more here than they did in FL.

From there we took a ride to the fairgrounds to see when it starts. Seems like it's tomorrow and they have Senior Day Friday AM so it looks like maybe I'll get too go. I'm not planning any hard thing as I know how that can go.

When we came home I ironed and did laundry, my favorite things. Then we went out to the trailer to see if there were some of our DVD's still out there. No luck on that but as we were standing there DHL pulled in and miracles of all they had my PSP X2, so I guess the call did work as the girl must of got on the phone and told them to blank or get off the pot. If that wasn't enough a little bit later the calliper showed up UPS and they had my new memory stick too. So I'd say it's been a good day. The RV now goes in tomorrow AM for the brakes and Friday for the tires on the front. Once that's done we can leave for Oklahoma. Plans are now to leave either late Saturday or Early Sunday AM. (which is the same to me) Scott is leaving tomorrow from Illinois to go to Oklahoma too. He told me he was buying me some Italian sausage for sauce, some Brats and Krakus Ham for Jim...so I know we;ll be having a few good meals.

During the teleconference last night we learned that the owner of the Jump Start Cafe, where the guys hang off and on, has been told to vacate as she hasn't paid the rent for months. Our friend bought the building a few months back since the owners of the restaurant couldn't afford to. They have since abused the friendship by not paying the rent so it looks like "we" have a restaurant. I use the term loosely as it's really John and Ellen who own it. A new person is being looked at to run it. if I knew more it would be an opportunity to do so..but that would mean we would be living in OK. In my eyes the place really needs a lot of work and if I had the $ I'd think on it. I think it could be remodled and make a cute country cottage cafe, with an easier menu and of course add some class with some espresso. I'll miss it as it was fun to have a place to hang at.

Well Scarlett maybe things will calm down and we can get back to doing some work. I've some real pretty kits to work with I just need some pictures to go with the colors. Terrell has been adding kits left and right to the stores and two of the new ones have me drooling so I plan on asking for them maybe next week when I have super download abilities. Her Halloween plaid is terrific and so is the grunge for Autumn...oh heck they are all delicious.
