Neighbors

I mentioned yesterday about our neighbor T and how he surprised us by working on the side property pushing stumps and clearing it out. We have 5 acres here and maybe 2.5 is woods and the house sits on maybe an acre or so and there is another 2 plus or minus on the side which was mostly grown up field and stump. Well, today Jim is out in the yard mowing around the house and Chuck the guy across the street comes over and says he's bringing his bulldozer over and going to smooth that part out and bury all the stumps, taking over where T left off. T was using a very small machine and Chuck has a bigger dozer. So he's out on the side dozing away while Jim is cutting lawn. Now I can just see someone in the North doing this. Yeah right. Now Jim would if he could as it's his nature to help. But I think it's a rare thing nowadays. I know in Florida it was almost non existent. Our dream was to smooth it all out and maybe someday have a couple of horses and build a riding area over there. I always figured it was just a dream but who knows. T mentioned he might furrow it too so I'm thinking since horses are out for a while maybe planting some hay would work and when T hays he could hay this and use the hay. It would be fine with me. Back to Chuck. Chuck is the guy who is digging out the pond across from us and originally they were going to bring the dirt over here but things changed as one of the large companies was looking for fill and he was able to sell it thus financing his pond, which is now deeper than a two story house....LOL I have no idea where the water is coming from to fill this mammouth Grand Canyon but it should be interesting. They plan on stocking it and also using jet ski's in it. This will be interesting. More later
