Any way we did that on Tuesday and Wednesday we did a few things at home in Blackwell as Jim was finishing up his Signal Work. We then also got to go to The Holy Grounds for coffee before we packed up to leave Thursday Am for TN. I was glad to be going as for a day and a half we were living with bad weather and tornado watches which left me an unhappy camper.
Thursday we got on the road by about 10 AM and headed South and East to TN. The trip went good and we had one brief stop over in Arkansas at supper time for about 3 hours where we ate and Jim rested up. We arrived home in TN about 1:45 AM Friday and just parked in the driveway and slept till morning. We find it easier this way leaving moving the kitties and the "stuff" back to the house for daylight hours. Jim goes in and turns the water and everything on and then plugs the RV in so we have everything we need for morning. Friday AM loomed nice and crisp and the first thing I saw when I looked out the window were two deer in the pasture. They looked like yearling and could care less what was going on around them. After coffee and a quick check of our e-mail we went in the house where I took a nice long hot shower. Jim brought the computer things in and we headed to town for "latte" and to see old friends. We must have been there for two hours chatting with friends. It was late afternoon before we got home and we just took our time bringing things into the house. (I hate the loading and unloading the most). By then it was time for supper and neither of us could figure out what we wanted. So back down the hill to Wal-Mart to by some staples for the week. We ended up having a huge salad with chicken for supper and oh yes a pumpkin pie which I was craving. LOL Both of us were pretty tired running around so we ended up not even going on the computer but going to bed about 10 PM.
This AM I was awake by 6 as it was light out ( it doesn't get light in OK to 7) I must be part rooster as I usually awaken with the first light. I made the coffee and proceeded to cut my hair which had gotten a bit unruly this trip. After showering we headed out again for more latte and a trip to Lowe's for a few things we need so that Jim can cut lawn tomorrow. Before leaving I started a huge vegetable soup and put it into the crock pot for the day. Love that thing :) We picked up some nice crusty French bread at Kroegers and plan on that for supper tonight.
I called the kids this morning ad was surprised to find David home figuring he'd be in Brazil. The movers have brought all their stuff but they are still unpacking things. David has been to Brazil for two weeks and then to Houston for class for two weeks and he leaves for his next 28 days in Brazil in a few days
and won't be home till the day after Thanksgiving. They are already wondering when we are coming down to see their new place. The photo they sent of it looks great and I was surprised they didn't get a bigger home, but I guess they are finally realizing that Derek being 18 might not stay living with them too much longer and Dale in a few years will be on his own too. So three bedrooms will be plenty. Dawn informed me she had been being pressured by K-Mart to come back there so, she gave in as the lunches at the Eagles she was doing wasn't keeping her busy enough so she is Receiving Manager at K- Mart now where she's having a ball. That's not to say her catering career is on standstill as tonight she is catering a dinner for 100 at the Eagles with David helping her. So she will still be doing her dream job of catering, too. She didn't say anything about the coffee place so I guess that might be on hold a bit till things settle down and the realization that they are retired from Uncle Sam's Navy hits them. This is the first I've gotten into my computer for longer than 5 mins. since getting back, and I probably won't really get into doing things till Monday while my body gets back to normal. I can't believe I'll be doing this in another week again as we head back to Oklahoma. ARGH. One thing I just found though is my Arthritis is back in full force since getting home..What's with that. I noticed the same thing when I got home from Washington State in July. I guess it's my body's way of reminding me to get my hip x-rayed this week when I go. Don't know why because I don't want any more meds and I don't want any surgery sooooo why? I keep thinking loose the weight and walk a bit more and that might be the answer. We'll see.
Oh another surprise was that our neighbor T AKA Bill Sutton used his dozer and smoothed out the field next to the house and pushed the dirt into one of the big ditches that was there so it's a start on a horse pasture of something.....maybe someday...but it's started to give us more usable land. Now how's that for a neighbor. We have been blessed here in TN. as we do have great neighbors. Well that's it for a bit it's dinner time in the hills.
