I'm not one for shopping so I am saved from this madness. Since we went out for dinner yesterday I decided to cook our own turkey today, but had forgotten to pick up one of those aluminum throw away pans to cook it with. Jim headed out before 8 AM to Wally world to get me one. I finally got my turkey in the oven by 8 :30 this AM, but it wasn't done before 2 PM this afternoon. After a nice meal Jim and I took a ride over to see Terrell to see how she was coming with her unpacking. Poor thing, boxes and things everywhere except the kitchen which she had organized so they could have Thanksgiving dinner yesterday. She figures by Monday she will have a lot of it done. They also soon will be getting a shed so things that need to be stored can be stored away. We had an espresso and chatted for a bit then Jim and I came back to the ranch.
After the bird got stuffed into the oven we did go to the Coffee Cabinet where Dale surprised us by having a waffle maker and making waffles this AM. I had one topped with strawberries and whipped cream. As Rachel says yum o! On the way back to the ranch this AM we saw our first flurry. If you happened to blink you missed it. Tonight is just relaxing by the fireplace and watching TV. The internet is lousy as its cloudy and our network operation center in Utah is having bad snow storms which is affecting us over here in TN. Which is depressing.
Oh yes Mickey the mouse showed up at 5 AM this AM and Shadow caught him but on the way to the bath tub she dropped him and the cats were off again, to no avail. When I came back tonight Chessie was sitting staring at my stove, so I opened the storage drawer and there was Mickey looking at me. I screamed, Mickey jumped, Chessie jumped, Jim pulled out the drawer and both cats disappeared into the space trying to catch Mickey. Cripers more work...I unloaded the dishwasher from dinner and loaded all the pots and pans into the dishwasher and cleaned and scrubbed the drawer and we have left it out for the evening in the hopes that one of the three cats catches him and this time he safely gets deposited into the tub so Jim can catch him and we can take him on another extended trip. I'd flush him on a sea cruse but with my luck he'd swim back and bite me in the butt. I do hope we catch him before Jim leaves as I can't see me trying to coral him. I'm sorry I hate mice..dirty little buggers. Fact of country living though especially with their outside homes being disturbed. Since I saw the first little bugger I have washed everything I need to use in the kitchen before I use it...no chances taken here. Just because you can't see them doesn't mean they haven't been there ugh!
Oh well Scarlett I'm too pooped to pop so, goodnight till the ''mousies" call.
