Well today worked out very well. I sent e-mails to my DIL Dawn and received one back from her and from Brazil. Jim got a call from his niece Kat and SIL, Holly. Since his brother David died in 2005 he has been a surrogate Dad for Kat. He has always had a special part in his heart for her, so I was glad he got a call from her. Especially since his own children never or rarely get in touch with him.
Tracy called early this AM and asked if she could use our oven to cook her casserole as she had no room in her oven and since I wasn't cooking my casserole till later it worked out fine.
We went to Our daily bread where we each brought a dish and we met 11 others that were not locals and had a wonderful dinner together. Janet the owner made turkeys, stuffing, gravy and cranberries and then the rest of us brought the other fixens. We enjoyed the company and the food, but we forgot the cameras. Darn! there were also plenty of leftovers so we all made plates to take home.
After everyone left Janet asked if we;d like to see her house which is just about across the street. We excepted the invite, since we love old houses. She and her husband Dr. Klier had added an addition to it for there office and redone the whole place. Dr. Klier did most of the work and the place was great.
We all made plans for a cocktail party on New Years Eve, where we each will bring something. It's not going to be an all night thing either, which is great for me. Something like 6-9 and that's plenty. I can't believe it's going into our third year in TN.
After dinner we stopped at our neighbors house and the guys made plans to go out Saturday to clear some of the top property. Tracy is doing some dentistry on the horses and I want to see that. Also the barn will be worked on if weather permits..
Well Scarlett it' getting late here in the hills.
