I hope everyone had a joyous holiday. We did, visiting those we love, but sorry to say it was all so quick and we forgot the camera. Since we had to go by Joyce and Rob's we stopped and wished them Merry Christmas too. It was a great day visiting those we hadn't seen for years.
Christmas Eve was "our" special time. Jim and I had spent Saturday at Fort Campbell getting a view things for our "little" dinner. I had wanted to get a standing rib roast, but was blown away with the cost. $58.00 for a tiny roast. Luckily I found that Hormel has individually wrapped slices of prime rib all with the right seasonings. We picked up two slices for about $7.00 apiece. I set the table with my pretty green damask table cloth and my Nana's home crocheted table cloth over it. I then took my Mom's cut glass bowl and silver tray and put red glass balls in it with some holly around the tray and had a pretty centerpiece. My white everyday plates were put on Christmas trays used as chargers and I had my Mom's Crystal glasses and flutes. I served baked potatoes, prime rib and green bean casserole (for Jim) for dessert we had vanilla ice cream and sherbert..something easy. Everything was easy and affordable. We watched all the oldie Christmas movies and watched the furbabies with their homemade catnip pillows and tiny mice. They loved them and all three plus even Puddy enjoyed their catnip fix. Jim had given me a pair of his old jeans and with store bought catnip, the other evening fighting off Shadow I cut pieces from them and made up four tiny pillows filling them with cotton facial pads and catnip.
We left all our Christmas lights on except for the tree so St. Nick could find our house during the night.
Today is a day of rest.No coffee shop as they are taking a few extra days off.
