bye bye Mickey

Chessie's the girl. Last night Chessie kept staring at the refrigerator, at least the side of it and bottom. I told Jim that she was acting like the mouse was under it. Shadow joined her sister and we watched as both cats prowled the floor. Jim moved the refrigerator out and as he did Chessie ran to the stove and starts staring at it. Jim opens the drawer at the bottom and out jumps Mickey an d Chessie makes the "pounce" and takes off growling. I told Jim she had to have caught it as she was running around loudly growling as Shadow followed. She saw me coming and dove underr the bed all the while the mouse is tightly gripped in her mouth. After about five minutes trying to corral her to the bathtub we got her in and shut the door. Then the fun began. Jim gloved by now with his work gloves grabs Chessie and tries to pry the mouse out of her mouth. Treating her like a dog he is trying to get her to drop the mouse into a waiting plastic container. Meanwhile I'm shooting pictures left and right. Finally under the watchful eye of Shadow she drops it into the little container with help from Jim. We take it out of the bathroom and TJ is on the bed watching so Jim shows it to him and her runs. God, what a wooseburger. So taking asdvantage I keep shooting pictures of the cats and Chessie's "catch" of the day.
Jim then suited up for the disposal drive. This time he took it a bit farther and in a different direction. I don't have the heart to bash his little head or kill him but I have no qualms of having nature take its course. I doubt if he survived the 12 degree weather in his shocked and injured state as I'm sure Chessie's grip did some damage.

The rest of the night we spent praising Chessie and even Shadow as we feel it was a team effort. "Wooseburger"is a different story. I figure he thinks he is the Lion King and these lowly females are just doing the job the were intended for...bringing home the bacon or in this case the mouse. I hate to admit but TJ is afraid of the mouse. He spent the rest of the night after lights out roaming the house howling with his toy mouse. The "boy" has a problem.

I will be posting the catch later ..if we have internet at home or tomorrow. I can't wait to do a LO of this exploit.

Later
