A new LO from the SAS Designer contest Christmas Remembered kit by Toye Mason Toy Box Designs featuring my cousin Barbara and one of her friends as Scrooge in their towns Dickens Christmas.
I had a blast last Sunday with Janet, Rob, Joyce and another new friend, Carol. We went to Franklin first and rode around the new development Janet was talking about. Holy cow, homes were over $600,000. What a cute development though. The houses looked like what you would find in Williamsburg or somewhere in VA only huge versions of them. Absolutely gorgeous. We then rode around Franklin and found two Chico's stores too, plus Starbucks and a whole bunch of quaint shops. Joyce will be in her glory there, but not in one of those houses LOL. After that we went to lunch at TJ Fridays then on to Sam's club where I'm surprised they didn't ask us to leave we were having so much fun. By the time I got home I was exhausted, so I didn't go to the play, after all.
I believe it was Monday when Janet had a few of her key employees call in sick and she had a dinner for 36 scheduled that night, so I offered to help her out setting up . I did that and a little prep work in the kitchen and then headed home. It felt so good to DO something again. Janet wanted to pay me, but what are friends for? We settled on her buying me lunch and two bottles of salad dressing. LOL Janet has some special dressing (only for special dinners) that I've fell in love with, that she gets from her fav. restaurant in St. Louis. Lucky me. She had been making me this Italian salad all last week and using that dressing....to die for.
TADA.....JIM'S HOME
Yup I'm shouting. Jim came home last night around supper time. I had made and cooked all day his favorite spaghetti sauce. So that's what we had last night. I thought I'd sleep sound for a change but the two of us still have remnants of this lousy cold and we both coughed all night and neither us or the cats got up till 8:45 AM. I'm very glad to have him home till after Christmas holidays. He had a teleconference last night so we didn't really have any time to chat and the poor guy was wiped out too. We will spend some time doing things together today and take the truck back on Sat. AM and from there go to the base at Fort Campbell.
Christmas dinner with Terrell had to take a back burner and I felt like hell calling her to cancel but some family things came up real unexpected and I felt I had to do this. I haven't seen my cousin Joy since probably before 1984 and she is near and dear to me and her Mom my Aunt Joyce too, who is now in her 80's. The last time we were together was when my Mom passed away in 95. These are the people I used to spend my childhood Christmas' with. I couldn't pass up time to spend with them again.
I've done a few more LO's with her great Donkey Love kit, too. The top of course is Jim and Me and the bottom one is my cousin Barbara and her husband David. They live in PA. and the town they live in decorates for a Dickens Christmas every year with the towns people getting all decked out in period costume doing skits all over town.
