Jim was given two injections in the butt of Lasix and a change of meds plus we learned he is on the verge of kidney problems which we know is a side affect of diabetes etc. He will be getting a consult with a kidney specialist and also had a change in his meds. He has already lost 12 lbs.
I on the other hand along with Jim have been switched back to Zocor from the combination pill we had been taking. Then we had the Byetta discussion. My levels have been 250 for over a month truthfully longer and I don't want to go on insulin. I know if I loose some weight I'll be OK. We talked about the side effects of Byetta which is weight loss. Ah how terrible. Besides a being a quick regulator of sugar (if it works) I get to loose some weight. So I'm on a two week trial at the low dose first. So we will see what happens. Giving myself injections twice a day is proving interesting. I am a person who is squeamish about even testing my blood but I have found that it is easier than I thought. So far so good there is a drop and I hope within the next few days it goes down further.
Tuesday we had to run to the base for meds and today Jim had another check up for the carotid artery operation he had in 2006...clean bill there.
So all that depressing info said on to other things. For those who wonder why I included it it's because I have some friends who mostly keep up to date by this blog.
We stopped at Sally's beauty store today to pick up my hair color. I decided to go to a darker blonde so I let the lady there help with the shade. I picked a more golden blonde and she gave us some stuff to mix in which she told us was black in color but did not color the hair black so not to panic when we mixed it. Well it was more chocolate and made the stuff look a dark butterscoth; As Jim put it on it turned carrot orange or red. Of course Mr. Jim had to take a photo.
BTW when washed it did come out a golden blonde
Phew!At least now I know I won't look good as a redhead
