Well we took Jim out for dinner at Chili's in the hopes of a real good margarita(otherwise it would have been McDonalds,LOL) Guess what? My luck holds Kay county has a booze tolerance on Sunday... no alcholic beverages. Argh! Well dinner wasn't too bad..at least mine. Jim couldn't eat his as he was feeling lousy but he did eat the chips and onion as did Scott and me too. I was a little piggy but I also realized I hadn't eaten anything since 6 AM and that was a package of peanut butter crackers. I had the fajitas trio ..shrimp steak and chicken with onions and peppers and OMG it was so good. I ate two and brought the rest home so I have enough for today too. Jim had fajita quesadillas, Scott had chicken and ribs. I was sooooo full I made myself sick. Oink, Oink. That's what comes from starvation and a place with lousy restaurants at home. Makes you a kid in the candy shop. Now today I'm wishing I can con Jim to go back to Ponca City so I can get a Starbucks. Ah yes that is new since I was here last. Ponca does hold some hope. I also have the Brace and More Book store which also has real good coffee plus books and a cutie kitchen store. Blackwell sadly has nothing to compare. A very small Wanna be Wal-Mart, a coffee place called Holy Grounds which has no atmosphere what so ever..not bad latte but I have a little problem with this. I know this is still part of the bible belt but I keep my religion to myself and don't like it pushed in my face. The name Holy Grounds came from the owner who said Jesus spoke to her and told her to open it and name it such. Well OK, that's fine with me but I really am not comfortable with people all sitting around and reading the bible where there is no where else for me to sit. No tables just a couch and a few chairs. So You are then in the
middle of their conversation. I kind of like keeping that part of me separate...my personal opinion. Anyway He and I have our own personal conversations so I don't ( at this time) feel the need to go public with them.
Lets see what else is here....well John and his wife do own a restaurant that they want to get out from under.. they rent it out but I guess it only holds it's own not much income there. If there was hope here I could do my coffee shop and book store...but you know I'm not that optimistic about Blackwell becoming the quaint place to be. As with a lot of Southern places there is a lot of politics here and they are slow to change.. I shouldn't say Southern as "us" Yankees can hold our own there. Ya gotta play ball, folks.
Yesterday was pretty cold but today it has warmed up a lot and I think it will be jacket less and open windows today.
Jim and Scott are in looking at their day so today will probably be a day of rest for me. Thanks to this nice cold I've been up most of the night with the sinus thing.
