Life without coffee!

Well not really. LOL It was a hard week without the Coffee Cabinet but there is still The Waverly Cafe. Not really the same as far as that homey feeling but coffee wasn't bad and the food is a lot better than The Daily Bread. Joyce and I met up on Monday for coffee and lunch and again on Wednesday when we were surprised with a visit from Leeann. She was on her way to a job interview. We talked about the fun we had and also other possibilities of her reopening elsewhere. I'd like for her to think about even opening up one of those drive thru coffee shops that look like over sized sheds. They are very popular out west especially Oregon, WA, Idaho etc. It seemed like every exit off the interstate had one and they were everywhere in the towns. It could be the answer. I think since she has the equipment all she needs is the shed and her family to winterize it plum it etc. Joyce is even thinking on getting the land. it would be cool if it can be pulled off.

On another note I've been very depressed on the results of my Byetta experiment. My levels haven't been what I expected. Last night it was over 300 this AM 240 and I didn't really go overboard on my diet. On a whim after seeing my 240 this AM Jim had me use his meter and using it with the same blood drawing it was 125 tonight 141 on mine and his meter read 116. Now I'm wondering for how long it has been wrong. They are sending me a new meter and it should be here by Tuesday. Mine is 6 years old and the base refused to give me a new one saying insurance wouldn't pay for it and that I had to call Abbott Pharmaceuticals and they would send me a new one if this one wasn't working right. So tonight I called them and "yes, they will".

Well, it has been good to have Jim home again and things are just about back to normal. He will leave around the 9th of August and i might be going too as he will be gone into Sept. We will do the same as we did last year at this time coming home stopping at the Illinois RR Museum in Illinois then going home. We will see.

Enjoy your time with Jim! You deserve it! I hope your readings are good again by now as you posted this several days ago.
