Ok so here we are in Blackwell, OK and it is worse here than TN. is that possible? Oh yeah it is. If you read back you will see our visit to Chilis in Ponca city was a bust so Jim and I decided to go to Perkins.. Now usually you can't go wrong there. It's in Ponca too. Disaster of all disaster...should have had leftovers at home. Jim and I ordered Cod, frenchfries and salad. We should have figured we were doomed right from the start as no one seemed to know who was waiting on who. After a bit of a wait we ordered got our drinks and salads. Salads were good and so was the coke. We finally were served very dry well done fish and overdone french fries which we could hardly eat. The waitress must have gone home from there as she never showed up again to replenish drinks, see if everything was OK or bring a bill. So after 15 mins of trying to figure who might be our server we went to the cashier and complained abouut food and service. They couldn't find a bill or server. LOL The manager came out and was very sorry and said dinner was free. So we had an hour or so people watching accompanied by lousy food.....lots of laughs. From there we went to Starbucks since our coffee and desert was going to be a lost cause. Got there just as they were closing but I did get my latte and Jim settled for an Americano since the coffee was off. But they did over to make another pot just for him. We chatted with the kids working there and we were told they had just got the word today that they were closing shop on Sept.26th. Boo Hoo the damn company didn't give them a chance they have only been there a year. But Corp has decided to close most of the Starbucks in Oklahoma. Thank goodness they will leave the one in the Food Pyramid grocery store as my book store has gone way overboard on prices. I refuse to pay $5.00 for a regular latte or $7.00 for a grande. They are nuts. Jim thinks they did this because of Starbucks and will drop the price when ?Starbucks closes. I should think it would be the opposite. Lower the price to keep your people. Oh well. At this ragte I weill have to go back to making my own again.
I did do a few more LO's with Terrells freebies from her blog. Autumn 1 and 2
