Day two on the prairie

I miss seeing the wheat field or corn whatever they planted across the street from our house on the prairie. They are now building a school there and what a mess it is. Dump trucks and bulldozers and all that goes on in a construction site. The last time we were here it had rained a lot and I think someone tried to steal something as I heard someone stuck in the mud at 2 AM. Today they put gates up at the entrances. Vandalism is pretty rampant here as they have also broken into or tried to brake in to the engine also.

Brian and Jim set off at 8:30 again this AM to check more of the track...this time heading farther North. I'm praying that it won't be as bad away from the creeks. Unfortunately there are plenty of them. We already know there is plenty of damage in Wellington where the last wash out was. The repair job withstood the water but it flooded in another area leaving the track hanging in the air. We still don't know how much help we will get fixing this. Sad thing is we don't own the railroad per say but we are the company that runs it. The state and others own it and aren't to enthused at fixing it. So for now I'm not sure what is going to happen.
Ariel shot of the Wellington track(circled in white) somewhere under the water..so you get an idea what we are fighting. This was a creek, thank God not a river LOL.
My thoughts are just in limbo as to where we will go from here. I almost wished Jim had gone to WA to work on the EWG instead, but he didn't want to go out there. At least the area had more to offer than Oklahoma and even though my son David retired and moved back to Georgia from WA I think it might have been interesting to have gone there for a few years. They are near Spokane...coffee shops, colleges book stores, restaurants and malls...heavy sighs. But that would have meant closing the house and figuring out what to do with Tom and Puddy...not something I'm ready to do right now. Then I could have stayed in TN and Jim could have gone ou,t with me visiting like one of the other engineers wife has done.

Jim and I are partial to living here in the East though so I don't know about that type of option anyway. I keep hoping they get another short line closer to us...who knows. One battle at a time.

Well I played around with my PSP today making tubes nothing spectacular just one of the lessons I've been monitoring.

Believe it or not the one on the left is made from a leaf and the other is made using a Dalmatian dog and putting the leaf one inside and flattening them. Cool huh! Kaleidoscopes of pictures and then saved as tubes. I think I have to play more with this easy tutorial. The dogs make it look like lace LOL

I'm still not into my scrapping mood with all the crap going on.
It's now after 7:30 PM and getting dark and nothing from Jim. Nights like this I don't plan on a supper as it would be a mess by now...but I am getting hungry and not sure what he has planned...no phone call either...but out here you never know if you will have a signal... so we wait.......
Later.
