Good Morning, good morning

Ah it's 68 out! a welcome relief from the hot days we have had. Hmm I think we referred to it as Indian Summer when we were growing up. When we went home for that one day I quickly loaded up with all long sleeve shirts figuring on cooler fall weather only to get hot weather. I had to go and buy a few more short sleeve shirts to get by.

My friend Marcy wrote and said she liked my flowers and thought I should continue with them so maybe I'll do that while Jim is off Brush Hogging today. She would love some carnations, but I have not seen any tuts on them. I bet the kaleidoscope could make a stylized one and who knows what playing around with the Bezier line can do. I guess this means more playing with PSP again...who knows maybe by the time we get home I'll be able to use the program even with out my book. I always have Tracy's brain to pick on. Tracy, AKA Ambowife can use both PSP and PSC3 and she has come to my rescue many times. Terrell uses PSC 2 I believe, so she is always there too if I start using my PS software. My scrapbook friends should always check their sites as both have freebies offered there. At this point all three, Marcy, Terrell and Tracy continue to encourage me in my endeavor to design. Who knows one of these days I might just surprise you and offer some of my own designs and take myself into a real designing field not just doing logos for Jim's company and scrapbooks.
I think I told you my friend and fellow CT Tracy AKA Ambowife is in a contest at SAS for a designer spot in their store. I fell in love with her Barely Remember kit which is week 3 and did this LO of my Nana. It is my favorite photo of her taken as a young girl. Nana was an immigrant from Ireland around 1908. She came to NY and worked in one of the hospitals and she met my Grandfather who worked for Con Ed. She was widowed young ( My Mom was about 11) and had 3 young daughters to support..by this time I believe she was in CT. She supported them by doing laundry, sewing etc. I think the embrodery scissors and the pearls in the kit drew me and made me remember this. Mom told me her hair was beautiful and went all the way to the floor. One day she went out had it cut and sold it so that she could feed her girls. Nan was one of the most intelligent women I knew and I found out she schooled herself by reading etc. to learn all she did. This is where I get my craving for books, I'm sure. She did remarry and have one more child, a son, while living in CT.
This is the last week of the contest at SAS so go vote and pick up some great freebies from her and the other designers as they will be pulled as soon as the contest stops.
