Interesting Saturday on the prairie

I had a great e-mail this morning from a lady in Wellington this AM that I had met last month. We had stopped for coffee at Daylight Donuts and had a conversation with another couple...Rick and Brenda..weird it turned out Brenda's maiden name is the same as mine....Beach. Anyway we exchanged e-mail addresses and info on family and we are able to check Brenda's family to CT. also. We didn't tie us together but we have decided to call ourselves cousins anyway. It could very well be too.I think it would be really weird if our GGGgrandfathers turned out to be brothers. I have only been able to trace back to my GGGgrandfather on Dad's side and no farther. I have traced Brenda's back to one of the three original Beach's of CT. and to the same side of the family that "they" say we come from but can't prove. Any way I told Brenda I was back in Blackwell again and she suggested we meet this AM in Wellington for coffee...which we did.

From the coffee shop we went over to their house which is an older home that they dream of making into a Bed and Breakfast. It is a beautiful old place with tons of bedrooms and a huge livingroom. The backyard has a lovely area which is very peaceful and makes garden spot for relaxing. The two car garage hosts an unfinished upstairs that they are hoping to make into a studio for guests. All in all we had a wonderful visit.

Jim then went to work on his signals in Wellington then we went back to Blackwell to get ready to go to dinner with Terry and her husband Brian. It was Terry's one year anniversary with the company. We went to Pauline's Super Club in Ponca City.

I'm in heaven we finally found a great place to eat reminisant to the CT restaurants we are used to. Atmosphere, great food and friendly service. I had steak and lobster tail.... and a wonderful marguerita. I will not mind coming back to Blackwell ...as long as I get to go to Pauline's again.
