TaDa, I'm here again

The first day no Internet for me but Jim's machine hooked right up. For some reason here at the Illinois Rail Museum my laptop with Vista refuses to connect as does my desktop machine.

Today Jim managed to hook both my machines up thru his laptop so it is acting as my server.

Very Interesting time. We have had nothing but rain since leaving Oklahoma residual hurricanes I'm sure. We park in what's called(by the members) Illegal Acres a nice little picnic area which is nice and peaceful and gives me a ring side seat to watch the activities on the railroad tracks. This morning after a trip to town for breakfast we had to do an emergency evacuation as the creek was rising behind us and the ground was getting softer and softer. So before we got flooded we packed up and moved to a spot in front of it that is paved. It is the turn around point in front of one of the car barns.......the electric cars circle us every 15 mins so I now feel I'm in a goldfish bowl.He plugged in to the barn so we do have limited power as long as I don't run everything at the same time. I can also still see the trains. I told Jim I felt I could make a few bucks while parked here selling hot dogs, coffee etc. He said he could put a red light in the window if I wanted since we are equipped for everything. LOL very funny, Jim.

Anyway hoping for a better day tomorrow which of course will bring out more people walking around staring at us, too.

The plan at this point is to leave here Monday morning for Camping World, lunch with friends and shopping in Naperville. This should bring us home on Tuesday morning sometime. So I hope we will keep the internet going for a bit.

Last night a bunch of us went into Marengo, IL and had dinner at Cafe20. Jim and I had the most delicious steak. It's been a long time for one of those let me tell you. We ordered NYStrip open faced sandwhich...as I wasn't ready to shell out $22 at an untried restaurant for a regular steak dinner. Well the think was seasoned just right and was about an inch think and medium rare...cutable with a fork and mouth watering good. I'd say it was the best restaurant food I have had in years. I think they thought I was crazy with the sounds I made while savoring my meal. Jim too was thrilled. I hope they stay in business as it will now become my 2nd favorite place to go on our Illinois trips.

Tonight it's Pizza not the best but from what I can remember eatable LOL
