Chigger, What the H..is a chigger?

I have been e-mailed by cousin David ..my one true reader of my tales wanting to know just what a chigger is . Here was my reply.

''Chiggers are tiny almost invisable bugs that bite they hell out of you making you scratch till you bleed. I was and am covered with scars from my bout. Mostly in the South and I'm sure they were bred to get rid of Yankees. The trick is after a bout in the woods to go in the house strip wash every bit of clothing and yourself from head to toe with hot soapy water. Since I had taken a shower that AM and was exhausted I didn't and waited till AM   DUH That's just what the Rebels counted on and I think they were bred during Civil War era. If they weren't they should have as the South would have won that war as all the Yankees would have been driven crazy from scratching.  I'm sure they are even worse than lice. Though never having had lice I'm not sure. But I know I do not want another bout with the Chigger,  he is all powerful."


Ha Maybe they can be America's secret weapon....introduce them in Iraq and Afganistan  and immediately withdraw..
