Wow. Looks like I've fallen asleep at the wheel. I didn't realize it had been so long since I blogged. I guess time goes by when you are having fun. Back in Sept. Tracy and I started working with the horses...mainly Tuff and La Haunton. It started out as a daily thing while Jim was away then kind of took back seat to when he was home then right after he left Tracy had to go away for about a week too. When she returned it was rainy so back on hold till this week. Sunday we took a walk through the woods...our new daily place to go. It is so peaceful and beautiful even with the falling leaves....and no chiggers. Chiggers???? Oh yes I didn't tell you about my bout with them. Being a city girl by birth I had never experienced Chiggers. What a joy...you don't see them but boy oh boy you feel them alright. I thought the cats had fleas. I spent two days and nights searching each cat for fleas. I washed everything I could find bleaching everything and cooking it in hot water...not knowing what it was...my body was covered in red bites that I had scratched raw. I researched bedbugs, fleas and any other bite on line...but Jim had no bites at all. He kept telling me to ask Tracy if they were Chigger bites but I thought he was nuts...so I kept washing things. Then while we were over Tracy's I showed her and she started laughing as I told her what I had been doing. She said, Didn't you go home and take a shower right away after our walk???:? Hell No I waited till AM. Well she just about laughed her ass off at City Girl and the chiggers. I am now initiated to Chiggers and have learned till the first frost after riding through woods and brushing trees and walking through the underbrush WASH. Sigh! She couldn't understand how I didn't know about them after living here for 5 years. I told her I didn't have Chiggers at my house and she laughed. I nicknamed her place Chiggerville.
Anyway she took some video of our "lessons" and I thought I could post them but it looks like I have to upload them to my Photobucket account. I did get some on Facebook though.
Here is a photo anyway of Tuff and I.
