More Dry Creek Ranch

Day two of fencing......

Tracy , T and Colten came over to help fence today. Thank goodness for their expertise as they brought up a few good hints as well as strong backs. LOL I went around with he 100 ft tape and flags measuring out 12 ft intervals and Tracy and Colten pounded in stakes T and Jim set the gate poles. We ran out of insulators so Jim ran to Paris to pick more up T and Colten went hunting and Tracy home to bake corn bread to go with the chili I set to cookin early this AM.  Jim and Tracy set poles yesterday and we thought we'd have enough to finish but didn't.

Jim went to Dickson Coop and the tractor supply this am to pick up what we needed plus feed for Lady Irish.  Guess what we are getting a donkey too. So Lady Irish will have her pasture mate with her and not feel so lonely. Donkeys can earn their weight in gold as they chase Coyotes away and other predators. Our Donkey is Molly and I guess I will keep that name for her. She will be Dry Creek's Molly Mae and our Quarter horse is Dry Creek's Lady Irish Mist.  I even made our logo up today so Jim could have signs made for the truck and jeep.  We are getting real official minute by minute.

I am so looking forward to this as it has been Jim's and my dream for a while now. I really considered it a dream and not a reality but I guess dreams can really come true.

This after noon we were graced by a Great Pyrenees and a Lab Puppy belonging to our other horse neighbor, Michelle. They usually roam her pasture running the fence line but I guess they got lonely and decided to see what was up down here. It kind of really made it feel like a ranch having them here too. They also keep out predators. Michelle has a bunch of horses and she now raises goats breeding them for auction. She does this as she used to breed horses but there is not a market for it now.  Do I see some goats on the horizon? What the heck whats a few goats along with the horse and Donkey. Any way I see a new friend on the horizon too. She sounded like a great lady as I talked to her on the phone...T had called and left a message that the dogs were here in case she worried.

I'm thinking it's time this Christmas for a party of neighbors. We have T and Tracy, Chuck across the street and his lady . Greg and his wife...they have chickens...LOL and Michelle and her significant other....I think it would be fun especially now I feel us blending in here.  About time. Me thinks.

Anyway Tracy is home baking corn bread and then they will all come back over for a Chili supper.

I have to tell you I am so happy and so lucky...great friends, neighbors and the best man in the world.
I'm thinking Jim is feeling the same way too as when he came home before he greeted me with a Hi the rancher is home and a kiss.

I have dreamed of something like this for years and never thought it possible.
