My Neighbor Tracy had the idea to introduce ALL of her horses to mine. So she opened her pasture above mine got on her four wheeler with camera to film the meeting. Well all of her 10 galloped into the field and headed right for my fence. Lady say them coming and went into an absolute panic got up a big gallop and ran right through our electric fence and galloped down the road with Molly following. Tracy and I went in pursuit I caught up with them in my neighbors field enjoying her grass after trial and pursuit I got a harness on Lady and started to lead her back with Molly following. Got back back and started into her pasture and she got wind of Tracy's horses...Tracy grabbed her and she reared till Tracy had to let her go and off I went again back down the road to the Neighbors field almost one half mile...after another hike around while she ran I got her caught again while Tracy went home to try to get her horses back to her house and out of the rear pasture. While I waited for her I found Lady was in heat and that's why she panicked....It's like a HO on the dock and the Navy Fleet was in and all headed her way. No wonder she panicked. Anyway back to the house and her significant other T took Lady to head her back in the pasture when Lady noticed their were still horses in the pasture. Reared up again and headed down the road the opposite way.I then gave up all hope to capture her. Another mile hike and search of the whole neighborhood with every time siting her she looked at me and took off. All the while Molly was following her. By this time it was getting dark and we got her down by the river led her back where T loaded her into the trailer ( he had gone home to get. ) Molly ran along behind the trailer not letting it out of her site. Molly trotted right into the pasture and we kept Lady in the trailer while Tracy and T re strung the fence. We then backed the trailer to the gate and off loaded her into the pasture where she prowled and stomped and kept looking for the Boys. We got through the night but today she was still antsy and looking for the boys all day. She spotted them in the filed besides the one from yesterday and of course kept watch on them doing her twitch. The Boys meanwhile lined up and watched her. I told her she blew it the boys would not be back again .
So after telling Tracy I was too tired to walk I managed to hobble about 5 miles yesterday trying to catch Lady. I told her DO NOT ASK ME TO WALK for three weeks. She in turn told me to tell her to shut up if she came up with any more bright ideas. I told her not to worry as if she did I'd probably shoot her. This was the second fiasco the first being Molly trying to kill her dogs when she brought them over to visit. They didn't know I'd made a pasture out of the yard.
Me I was up all night listening for another mad break...
She called me last night and asked if I was still mad and I just said no not really but was contemplating sending Lady and Molly back. With my surgery coming up and the pain I am already in I can't do this. She said she and her friends were coming over at 9 AM and going to finish the horse shed Jim started which they did and re routed the fence around it too.
Anyway today the sun was out not literally but Jim will reinforce the fence when he gets back...Tracy will keep her animals home and out of the back pasture..Lady is thinking about being good and wondering why the boys can't come over anymore. Molly just plods along follower that she is. No damage was done except to me. My nerves are completely shot my blood sugar has gone out of control and I haven't eaten anything. I have no idea how long a horse is in season as she was in heat when I got her which is about a month ago. Cripes now I have to keep a calendar for a darn horse.
I have decided I have rocks in my damn head. 67 years old what the heck possessed me.
the shed
Lady hearing the horses coming and then the both of thm getting ready to bolt. ARGH!!!!
