notes on recovery

Jim has brought me my computer so that I can send you a few words. I'll save to draft and he will plug the la[ top in at home to send this out. Sadly I can't receive here so I will not see your messages except the ones you are sending to Jim. He prints them out so that I can read them and see the beautiful graphics attached.

First off I want to thank all of you for your kind messages and words of encouragement. You do not know how much they have helped.

I'm closer to you than to any family in that we keep in touch so often
So from the bottom of my heart thank you so much.

Second I'm feisty LOL So that has to mean I am on the way to recovery. With the storm Jim wasn't able to come over to visit since Thurs. He arrived today and I burst into tears as he was a site to see. Last night I was ready to get out of bed and call a cab or crawl home. LOL

Arriving by ambulance by stretcher wrapped like a pig in a blanket with a giant wedge stuffed between and strapped to my legs I arrived here at 2:30 PM at The Camden Hospital.. Now also realizing that I now haven't bathed in four days my hair is now plastered to my head and make up is non existent I am sure that I look like a lovely. An expression my childhood friend and I used for the ugly and unfortunate not that we were any beauties..but older and wiser I know beauty is not seen in mirrors it comes from deep inside. But like I said it's an expression from youth.,,an we know not all youth is kind.

Bumping and winding the ambulance workers brought me in and announced I was here. I was show my room and they preceded to transfer me to the other bed. I was told someone would be there to talk to me soon. LOL I didn't much care as I was missing General Hospital which Ginny will understand for sure...... Happily though I missed most of it I caught the important part ...the part we have been waiting to sigh on the edge of our chairs.....Ginny do not worry I am recording it.

Thy got around to me an hour later and set me up with everything I needed...Rehab came in and we did leg exercises and walked down the hall and back. Nice guy named Daryl...He was amazed I wasx doing so well I informed him I didn't plan on making this stay long...I was going to learn and do everything well enough to get the H out of Dodge. He told me that I would have the weekend with only the nurses and some short walks but if I could do any leg work in bed Do It. I have. LOL

You will be proud ladies I was up this afternoon and took a hike down the hall to a shower.....a real shower and I was in my glory. After that the girls said if I needed a chair to go back I could but I refused I told them if I felt I was overdoing I would stop.

Any way I'm human again.

The hospital is an off shoot of the big hospital in Jackson, TN and treated as such...it gets all its hand me downs...walls are dingy chairs and beds etc are all out of date hand me downs.....sad;;;I bet the bill though will not reflect that. They think of the people here as the lowly...poor life not very educated I'm sure. But do not fear as the help here makes up for it. My nurses have been wonderful and thrilled that I am not the usual moaner and groaner hip replacement in their 80's. We are getting along great and when I do my survey it will be in letter form expressing this.

Any way guys just wanted to say hi and thanks and I'm trying for a quick comeback.
