Lady and Cody are doing great at cowboy camp and Jim and I are learning lots. I've even Vetted a horse..yeah me LOL I gave a shot of banamine and also some bute and so did Jim. We desensitized yesterday and today we did the same then we saddled up taught them to flex their necks and then we got on and did the flexing again. The more we get them to do it the softer they will be and we will be able to do the one hand stop in any emergency. It's quite an experience learning all this bonding. Lady and Cody are doing well...so are Jim and I. Jim rode Cody around the ranch and was jogging like a trooper. I did have problems mounting but did get on but was having a problem with Lady's bit which might have to change.
We did have one big problem before getting to work with them which also could have made her a bit antsy. Susan had a rider there who was ridding a horse Susan was keeping with her stud for breeding and when she put her away her Stud broke out and broke into the pen where Lady and Cody were.....reason......Lady came in heat . They didn't breed and we got him out but the interest was great and Lady and he were spending a lot of time looking at each other.\
It didn't effect Lady's training she performed perfectly no problems doing all her Q's till like I said I went to ride her. It wasn't like she was acting up she still was doing OK but she was having trouble with her bit.
Any way......I think I'm going to be a grand mommy.......After much deliberation and watching both Lady and Cody interacting with a baby colt we decided Lady would get married. LOL So Lady went to visit Jay in his pen. If this takes I'm sure to get a Paint as that is all Jay throws...hoping for a sable or tricolor we will see. Cody was having fits very jealous of seeing her go off and they were calling back and forth all afternoon. I think seeing Secretariat made me make up my mind to experience this.
