Tossed and turned all night LOL I had found two lumps under Ladies Jowls yesterday so I called my friend Susan (who we got horses from) and she was coming over this AM to check before I made a panicked " this lady is a jerk" call to my Vet for $80. Was up reading all the disastrous things it might be...Internet can be a boon or a panic tool. I was sure it was "Strangles" Was set to go on nurse mode to save her.
Susan came finding Mother out in the pasture holding Lady's "paw" so to speak. LOL Nothing found false alarm normal neck glands...but I could have sworn they were bigger yesterday. She had stood there sadly looking at me , not stuffing hay in and letting me rub under her chin yesterday like she was telling me something. Maybe just..."I love you Mom" Anyway I felt it better to check then let it go and go out and find her with a full blown abscess of "Strangles".. Lady well she was loving the attention to the point of trying to bite Molly when she tried to horn in. Cody could care less he just kept feeding his face.
Trying to learn so much is something when you know you are an idiot when it comes to horse knowledge. I am trying to learn every part of their body so as to know if something is wrong..not as much of an idiot as I thought..I guess. Every time I'm with them I'm always rubbing under their chins and scratching where they can't scratch. Yesterday I went into the field with them no rope or halter and said "Come on let's walk" I had been doing it with Lady in halter and everyone followed so I was really surprised to look and see they were following me like dogs no ropes..what a riot.
I am now breathing easier knowing I did the right thing and Susan will come anytime I need her which is good since my horse neighbor does travel..
Some tags I worked on a few are animated which will show if you click on them. Like the leaf falls and candles and fairy wings move
