I swear I lost a day somewhere. did anyone find it? Yesterday I thought it was Thursday and now it's Sat. The cold lingers and I still haven't got a decent nights sleep. Every night I wake up coughing and it lasts a good half hour. I have tried everything. Before bed I rub Vicks on my feet and put socks on then for good measure I rub it on my chest. I take two TBS of honey with lemon, drink water with lemon and follow it with two NyQuil and still this cough haunts me. I'm totally exhausted the next day. If that isn't enough I sleep fitfully waiting for the cats to catch Mickey the mouse and deposit it in bed with me. Last night Shadow practiced with a straw which she would pick up off the floor in the kitchen and proceed down the hall meowing at the top of her lungs to the master bath where she proceeds to drop it in the tub. Her version of catching the mouse and bringing it to me for praise. At least she seems to know what I want her to do with Mickey. She has a straw fetish and steals them whenever she can. TJ does something similar with his toys. Poor fatboy has no teeth so mousing is out for him. Chessie just runs wild. It's like a circus at bedtime here.
I can't be called selfish as I have shared my misery with Jim who though he is in Oklahoma right now is suffering right along with me. His cold seems to have progressed faster as his went to his head quicker than mine. He has been sniffing and has a very hoarse voice too. His cough though has not kept him from sleeping. One thing I have noticed about men is they sleep. Weird. His head hits the pillow and he's off. I've never been that lucky except when we are driving. LOL He'll tell you I'm nodding off before we reach the highway. At least by the time he gets back we should be both over this and not re infect each other.
I went down to the coffee shop and had a nice "hot apple pie" which is not pie but hot cider with butterscotch and whipped cream that is wonderful. Should have been rum LOL. Anyway today was the town parade. I was trying to get in the festive mood even though Jim isn't here. It was too damp for me so I sat inside and watched in comfort.
Yesterday I ventured to the coffee shop and met with Terrell and Alex and downloaded some goodies she brought me. I keep forcing myself to do things hoping I'll feel better without overdoing it. I thought I might even scrap a bit but found I had no concentration for it. It'll come but I'm just realizing I just don't have the umph I had even a few years ago and it takes more out of me now when I get sick.
One good thing is I'm trying to do more exercise like the Doctor ordered. Instead of just going to get the mail I walk down the road a bit and back and I started my Leslie Sanzone Walk aerobic exercise DVD yesterday starting out with a one mile walk and I'll work up. I love her videos and used to do them faithfully so maybe that will help a bit.
I almost forgot by buddy Tracy had her honey T drop off a big bowl of soup she had just made tonight so I'm doing better than poor Jim. He's got no one to make soup for him. Poor baby.
Well tomorrow is another day.

I'm sorry to read that you are both under the weather Doreen, I hope you are both over it soon, as you say, by the time Jim comes home. I was surprised that you still have Mickey hanging about too. I had a mouse but I think I may have got him with the baits I put in the cupboards behind the drawers. I hope you both have a wonderful Christmas!!
Hugs
Tracy
LOL I just read my comment and got a rush of "'twas the night before christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse!" Look out Mickey, the kitties will get you for sure!!
