Moving on

Today we had to go to the Coffee Cabinet so I could download some kits from Tracy and Terrell. We got up early enough but with this and that we didn't get out as soon as I'd like.

Tom seems a bit more alert, but not his old self. They were fed at 7 and went back to sleep. Before we left we put Pud out so she could make her rounds then blocked Tom from getting out so we could monitor him. He took his med with no fuss and settled down with some more to eat this time soft food as it has water in it. He ate some more and also drank a little then settled back to nap. I think he was a little confused and thought he should do his daily walk about but he did seem OK with staying in. We left by way of the front door and had to laugh as a confused Pud Pud sat on the top steps of the back porch looking at Tom on one side and us driving off. Hopefully he will be better before Jim goes to Oklahoma so I can have him altered before setting him free again. The vet charged us about $68 to get him taken care of and it will be $80 for altering him plus more for inoculations. I figure it will be worth it not to see him suffer and I will pray that we get no more strays.

As if we don't have enough problems jim will visit the doctor tomorrow himself. They did change his meds about 6 mo ago and he has gained 40 lbs give or take since and his legs and feet seem swollen. I told him to call when I got back to TN in July as I noticed the Pillsbury Dough boy look right away. But who am I? Of course he didn't say anything at his last check up either so he put on another 20. At that rate 20lbs every 3 months he'll be as big as a house in a year. Sad thing is his eating habits haven't changed, so it has to be the meds. Both of us are doing lots of salad and eating the larger meals at noon then salads at night. His diabetes remains under control even when he is bad and mine isn't. Go figure. I can be as good as can be and it makes no matter. Next time I go I'm also going to ask about my insomnia. Truth be known I haven't slept a full night in years. I swear I'm up 5 times a night at least every two hours as I always check the clock. Lately on TV they have been having reports that there is a tie between sleeping, diabetics and not being able to loose weight. We'll see.
