Getting ready for week 6

getting ready for week 6 ah yes that long awaited week 6 The last week of restrictions. I figured it would be the end of rehab too but not too sure on that. I am walking well considering they made my leg longer than my good leg..what does this mean? Well I guess I will need a lift for my good leg as I am now overcompensating and limping again. Sigh Is there no end to the limp? It is also causing pain in my lower back and pain in my right knee. There are still times I ask myself why did I put myself through this only to have more problems.  The answer will come in early summer.  I hope!  If when I go to mount my horse Lady I can throw my leg over the cantle of my saddle without a shove then I have my answer. If I can't then this torture was just that TORTURE.

 _Cantle - The cantle is the upright portion of the saddle at the back of the seat. It's an important part of the saddle as it secures the rider in place so that they don't slide off the back of the saddle while also providing a backrest for more comfort. For those who do not know what saddle parts are. LOL

This has been my worst enemy even though I found a saddle with a low cantle my mounting had become worse and worse.  The last episode was standing on my picnic table bench ..which was also on a 12 inch from the ground deck and bringing my trusty steed Lady up neck to the deck and just about 'dropping into the saddle as this position did put me way over her small back. As you can gather Lady (TG) is a small horse...solid but small..  She has a lot of power and go when she wants too..so being small is not a handicap. Though I have only had her in a short jog what I have seen of her gait is beautiful...time will tell. She is very graceful in her loping around the pasture.

Anyway week six means....I hope ..that next week I will be able to sleep without that pillow block between my legs and I hope a peaceful night sleep not worrying about throwing my hip out of joint during sleep. We wall see. It also means I can bend over .....carefully. Daryl said be preparred to live with a few of my 13 restrictions for life. I am also dreaming that on the day after restriction ends I will have no more pain...OK so I still have visions of grandeur. I tell everyone I have no pain welllllll I do but......I expected worse so I consider what I have "no pain"

It's still very cold but as I sit here I see two Robins outside my window picking through the leaves at whatever morsels Robins eat. Jim says they have been here a few weeks now. Looks to me like they have hats and scarves on so it's still a bit cold for them. It gives me hope though that warm weather is about to descend on Middle Tennessee. I hope so.

I have two months from today to complete my recovery as that is when our class reunion is in CT. I am so looking forward to going . Sue Bunny (my oldest friend) is having us stay with her and her husband Fatty....lol yup Fatty...his real name is Carl but has always answered to Fatty so who be me to go against tradition. Anyway she and I are so looking forward to this. She will take some time off from work so we can "play". That's what we used to call our running around "play" She is scoping out the best food joints as she knows I only have a few days to get my fix in of eating.     Pizza, fried clams with bellies, lobster rolls with butter and Italian Pastry and Italian bread. that is what is on my mind.

I used a tube from Rachael Tallamy and Ambowife's newest kit Lavender Green. I plan on turning it into a LO as soon as the contest is over for Ambowife's CT.
